February 8th, 2020 Visited our clinic with a complaint of diarrhea, coughing and sneezing from after bringing it home from a pet shop BT39.6°C The 10-in-1 vaccine had already been done. We prescribed Flagyl (Metronidazole). February 16th, 2020 The overall condition was OK during medication but started to weaken this morning with coughing, rough breathing, diarrhea, and vomiting. BT40.1°C Blood tests revealed WBC 17460µl and CRP 6.7mg/dL but no other problems were seen. We administered Cefamedin (Cefazolin), Tylosin, Metacam, Vibramycin February 17th, 2020 BT dropped to 39.1°C, appetite returned and we thought the respiration was getting better, but x-ray results had worsened. At the moment we suspect advancing in the severity of the kennel cough or aspiration pneumonia, but are there any other diagnoses we should keep in mind? Also, do you think nebulizers are applicable to this case? We've admitted the patient because of the unexpected x-ray results, but the owner doesn't wish for long hospitalization for financial reasons. Appetite is fine and the patient has no problems in taking oral medications. I believe it'll take a while for complete recovery, but how long would you continue treatment with hospitalization? Please let me know if you have any recommendations.
