Maia is a 9 yr old rabbit who came in with chronic Sinusitis and Rhinitis.
Maia had a sneezing problem and it was affecting the quality of Maia's life.
Maia had surgery which helped for a bit but her symptoms returned about a year later.
That is when the owner felt acupuncture might be an alternative solution to Maia's condition.
Now her symptoms are minimal and her appetite has come back since going through acupuncture.

She was on antibiotics. The sneezing lasted for years but it started to get worse.
Maia had surgery but after a year was showing symptoms again.
Her owner decided to bring her to Graham and now she has made great strides in her health.

The veterinarian mentioned rabbits breathe only through their nose. This is why it is incredibly important to keep the nasal passages clear.
Rabbits can die rather quickly if they stop breathing (sometimes within 30 seconds).
Bacteria caused Maia's infection in her nose. Rabbits have caseous pus which can cause blockages in the sinus cavity.
The veterinarian mentions the difficulty with surgery in the sinus cavity for rabbits.
She mentions with the coupling of antibiotics and acupuncture, Maia has improved tremendously.
